Project Topeka is an annual food and monetary drive to help feed Topekans in need. BCBSKS employees give many hours and generous contributions each year.
During 2012, BCBSKS employees surpassed the set goal of 19 tons for the food drive campaign held during February. Employees' generosity led to the collection of
food items and dollars that totaled 20.16 tons to donate to Project Topeka, which supports eight local emergency aid organizations.
Hundreds of cases of spaghetti sauce and noodles, grape jelly, rice, chicken noodle and tomato soup, canned vegetables and pork and beans were purchased with the $23,717 employees raised through a variety of fund raisers.
