Turn a Working Lunch into a Walking Lunch
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is gearing up for National Walk @ Lunch Day on Wednesday, April 24, and we want you to join us! Tens of thousands of walkers from across the country participated in last year's event and we hope you'll help make this year an even bigger success.
Walk with Blue Cross employees in Topeka, Wichita and Salina
BCBSKS is hosting a rally and walk event beginning at noon, April 24, at the Kansas Judicial Center in Topeka. We invite downtown Topeka employees, legislators and elected officials, and the public to join hundreds of our employees for a one-mile walk to celebrate National Walk @ Lunch Day. We will gather on the north side of the Kansas Judicial Center.
BCBSKS also is hosting a rally and walk event in downtown Wichita, beginning at noon at the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce. Our Wichita-based employees look forward to leading other downtown workers and the public on a one-mile walk along the river, ending back at the chamber building.
In Salina, our employees look forward to meeting other walkers at noon at Campbell Plaza. The group will then walk along Santa Fe.
A limited number of free event T-shirts are available to participants at each location.
The day is designed to complement, not compete with your busy lifestyle. You can make a commitment to incorporating a daily walk into your routine, helping you improve your health. It is easy to participate - just bring a comfortable pair of shoes to work and take a walk at lunch.

We encourage all our employer groups and members to get involved by walking at lunch – wherever you are.
Employers: If you'd like to organize a walk for your employees, we have tools available for you to use. You can download and print flyers or other informational materials to share with your employees in the Tools for Employers section. We also hope to track the number of employees at other companies who participate. If you plan to promote this event at your organization, please let us know by sending a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
