Beryl "Bebo" Lowery-Born - Vice President, Finance

Bebo Lowery-Born became vice president of finance in March 2005. In that role, she oversees an operating division that includes the company's actuarial research, accounting, underwriting and management engineering departments. In October 2007 she added oversight responsibility for CQI services. She also is president of Advance Insurance Company of Kansas, and serves as treasurer for BCBSKS, as well as treasurer and officer for its three subsidiaries, Administrative Services of Kansas, Premier Health, Inc., and AICK.

The Dodge City native joined the company in 1968. Lowery-Born earned degrees from both Kansas State University and Washburn University. She is a certified managerial accountant and holds the designation of fellow from the Academy for Healthcare Management.

She is a member of the board of directors for MII Life and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation, and also is a member of the Institute of Management Accounting and the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce. Lowery-Born is on the boards of both Florence Crittenton Services and the Elmhurst Neighborhood Association.
