Treena Mason — Vice President, External Sales and Marketing

Treena MasonTreena Mason brings more than 16 years of experience assisting Kansas business owners to provide the right health benefits plan for their employees and in developing an award-winning sales team to her new roles as vice president of external sales and marketing. Mason, who was promoted to that position in February 2013, also serves as the chief marketing officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and president of Advance Insurance Company of Kansas (AICK).

As vice president, Mason oversees the company’s efforts to market the company’s health, dental, life and ancillary products to existing and prospective businesses with 10 or more employees, leading a team of group consultants and group enrollment representatives located in 11 different communities throughout the state. In addition, she oversees the company’s product development, market research, marketing communications and e-commerce efforts. In her role with AICK, she leads its efforts to develop and market life, short-term disability and long-term disability insurance products.

Mason joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas in 1997 as a group consultant in the company’s Dodge City district office. She was promoted to regional manager of the Hutchinson Regional Marketing Office in 2003, leading the efforts of sales professionals located throughout a 65-county area of central and western Kansas. As both a group consultant and regional manager, she received numerous annual and quarterly sales awards for her success and the achievements of her staff.

Mason is a graduate of the company’s Blue University Leadership Quest program. The Sublette native is a strong supporter of her community. She has assisted in various capacities for the United Way, USD 313 and CrossPoint Church, where she established a local program that assists people in reaching their financial goals. She also has served on the board of PrairieStar Health Center, a federally qualified health and dental center that provides care on a financial need basis.
