Rex R. Fischer, M.D.

Rex R. Fischer, M.D., has been a member of the BCBSKS Board of Directors since 1971. He has served as chairman of both the Blue Shield Board of Directors, from 1979 to 1981, and of the combined BCBSKS board from 1990 to 1992. He currently is a member of the governance and investment committees.

The Nebraska native earned both his bachelor's and medical degrees from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Fischer retired in 2006 after serving as an obstetrician/gynecologist in Manhattan since 1968.
