Subject: Remittance Advices Available at Web Site

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) is pleased to offer to providers the ability to access, review and print remittance advices via our Web site www.bcbsks.com.

AVAILABLE: April 5, 2004

WHERE LOCATED: the remittance advice feature is located in the PROVIDER SERVICES section of the Web site. This is secure information so you must have a provider profile.

POSTING SCHEDULE: a remittance advice will usually be posted by noon the day after it’s generated. (i.e. remittance advices generated on Monday night should be posted to the web by noon on Tuesday.)

OPTIONS INCLUDE:

  • View remittance advice documents - displays the most recent 20 remittance advices in reverse chronological order.
  • Remittance Advice documents search by date - allows you to select and display a remittance advice based on a date range. RAs with payment dates prior to September 24, 2003 are not available.
  • View Pend/Suspend Notices
  • Stop receiving mailed Remittance Advice documents – allows providers to elect not to receive a paper remittance advice. At this time, this feature is voluntary but we strongly encourage you to consider eliminating the paper remittance advice. Once you choose to stop receiving a paper remittance advice, your checks will continue to be delivered to you just as they are today. Also, when you choose to eliminate the paper remittance advice, be sure your staff knows that a paper copy will no longer be received in the mail.

WEB FORMAT: the remittance advices appearing on the Web site will appear exactly like the paper remittance advices.

WEB ADVANTAGES: using the web remittance advices can offer some advantages such as the ability to enlarge the font size or using the find function (CTRL F) to search by name, ID number, etc. Also remember that you’ll have access to them much quicker than waiting for mail delivery.

We are excited about this new web function and the time and cost saving potential it has for both providers and BCBSKS. Please take a few minutes to become familiar with this simple process for accessing remittance advices on our Web site www.bcbsks.com and incorporate it’s use into your financial and inquiry process.
