Some of the changes to the SOK 2012 benefits include the following:

• Preferred Lab Benefit: For 2012, the SOK has added a second Preferred Lab Vendor. Quest will continue as a statewide vendor and nationwide vendor. Stormont Vail (dba Stormont Vail, Cotton O'Neil and Pediatric Care) will be a regional Preferred Lab Vendor in NE Kansas.
  Reminder: The Preferred Lab Benefit is an optional benefit that only applies to Plans A and B.
• Plan C: In 2012 BCBSKS will continue to administer the SOK’s Benefit Plans A and B. We will now also be administering the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan, Plan C. This is not to be confused with Senior Plan C, which we will continue to offer. Senior Plan C is a Medicare Supplement Policy.

• In 2012, the SOK will cover the first eye exam of the year at 100% MAP regardless of diagnosis. Additional eye exams will be subject to the regular benefit. (In 2011, the eye exam had to be billed as preventive to be covered in full.)
