Altered BCBSKS Payment Schedule - Beginning May 22, 2008

In preparation and implementation of the mandated date of May 23, 2008 for use of NPI only claims, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas will be making the following changes to our payment schedule beginning May 22, 2008.

Thursday, May 22, 2008:
Both PIP and non-PIP providers will receive checks and 835 files will be created for providers who receive electronic remittance advices (RAs). Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) files will be sent on 5/27/08 for providers who receive EFT payments.

Friday, May 23, 2008:
Payments will be sent (excluding PIP payments) and 835 files will be created for providers who receive electronic remittance advices (RAs). EFT files will be sent on 5/28/08 for providers who receive EFT payments.

NOTE: All providers will receive remittance advices and 835 files showing the billing NPI number instead of the local billing provider number starting May 23, 2008.

Monday, May 26, 2008:
Memorial Day Holiday. No cycle will be run on this day.

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 thru Wednesday, May 28, 2008:
Normal weekly provider payment schedule resumes.

Thursday, May 29, 2008:
Payments will be sent (excluding PIP payments) and 835 files will be created for providers who receive electronic remittance advices (RAs). EFT files will be sent on 6/2/08 for providers who receive EFT payments.

Friday, May 30, 2008
Payments will be sent (excluding PIP payments) and 835 files will be created for those providers who receive electronic RAs. EFT files will be sent on 6/3/08 for providers who receive EFT payments.

The normal month-end cycle will be run.

Monday, June 2, 2008
Normal payment cycle resumes.
