In accordance with URAC requirements, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas must credential our contracting hospitals, home health agencies and ambulatory surgery centers. Last week BCBSKS mailed out URAC credentialing letters and applications to the CEOs of facilities that are required to be credentialed.
If your CEO did not receive an application, then your facility is either not required to be URAC credentialed or is currently URAC credentialed by BCBSKS and/or TRICARE. If your facility is already URAC credentialed, then it is not necessary for your facility to submit a URAC application and your facility's URAC status will remain as credentialed.
The application needs to be returned to BCBSKS along with the requested information by February 22, 2013. Information on where to send your facility's completed application is included in the letter mailed to the CEO.
The credentialing process takes 60-90 days to review and complete once BCBSKS has received the application. The credentialing committee will review the information for each facility and notify the facility on their URAC credentialed status once the review process is complete.
If you have questions on URAC credentialing, please contact your BCBSKS Institutional Provider Representative. Denny Hartman can be reached at 316-269-1602, Cindy Garrison at 785-291-8862 and Christie Blenden at 785-291-8813.
