Cathy Mih Taylor, MD, Joins Board of Directors for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas

Cathy Mih Taylor, M.D., Chanute, recently joined the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors. Dr. Taylor was selected to fill a newly created position on the board until the annual policyholders meeting May 10 at which time she will be eligible to be elected to a three-year term on the board.

The state’s largest health insurer is governed by a 16-member board of directors, which represents individual and group policyholders. Collectively, board members have experience in business, finance, investments, education, human resources, medicine and hospital administration.

Dr. Taylor, who operates the Mih-Taylor Women’s Clinic, specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. The Chanute native has more than 20 years of experience in the medical profession. After earning her associate’s degree at Neosho County Community College, Dr. Taylor earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. She received her medical degree in 1983 from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Tulane University Medical Center and Charity Hospital of New Orleans.

Dr. Taylor holds the designation of fellow for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and also is a member of the Kansas Medical Society. She has recently served on the Medical Advisory Committee for BCBSKS. She is a deacon for the First Christian Church, and is a board member for Safari Museum in Chanute. She also supports local theatres, as well as music and youth clubs. She and her husband, Larry, have three children.
