Alley Re-elected as Chairman of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors

James M. Alley III, D.D.S., an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Wichita, was re-elected to a third one-year term as chairman of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors at its annual meeting May 10 in Topeka.

Also re-elected to one-year terms as officers were Steven D. Marsh, a Wichita certified public accountant, vice president and first vice chairman; and Robert L. Mullen of Lyons, administrator of Hospital District 1 of Rice County, second vice chairman.

Re-elected to four-year terms on the 16-person member board at the annual policyholders’ meeting were Rex R. Fischer, M.D., Manhattan; Edward J. Miller, Iola; Louis E. (Gene) Mosiman, Topeka; and W. Paxson St. Clair Jr., Independence. Elected to a three-year term on the board was Cathy Mih Taylor, M.D., Chanute.

Other members of the board are: Leon J. Boor, Abilene; Harold D. Dufek, Hutchinson; Robin R. LacKamp, Concordia; Michael M. Mattox, Topeka; Gary D. Shorman, Hays; Thomas C. Simpson, M.D., Sterling; Susan M. Smith, Wichita; and Alfred F. Wasinger, Hutchinson.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. BCBSKS is the state's largest health insurer, serving all Kansas counties except Johnson and Wyandotte.
