Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Employees, Foundation Give $226,290.18 to United Way Campaigns throughout the State

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation donated a total of $226,290.18 this fall to United Way campaigns in Topeka, Salina, Wichita and Hutchinson.

In Topeka, where approximately 1,600 employees work, President/CEO Andrew C. Corbin, presented officials from the United Way of Greater Topeka with a check in the amount of $209,326.18. The check represents an employee contribution of $184,326.18 as well as a $25,000 donation from the BCBSKS Foundation.

“Our employees continue to demonstrate their compassion for others in our communities and show their commitment to helping the United Way fund programs to achieve lasting change with their donations," said Corbin.

In Salina, home to about 50 BCBSKS employees, donations totaling $6,485.20 have been donated to the Salina Area United Way by employees and the BCBSKS Foundation. In Wichita, where BCBSKS employs about 35 people, $8,959.80 has been donated by employees and the BCBSKS Foundation in support of the United Way of the Plains’ annual campaign drive. Eight employees in Hutchinson raised $1,494 for the United Way of Reno County.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. BCBSKS is the state's largest health insurer, serving all Kansas counties except Johnson and Wyandotte.
