Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Earns Two Customer Satisfaction Awards
For a third consecutive year, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas has been awarded the Highest Customer Satisfaction Award in the health care industry by Service Quality Measurement Group (SQM). In addition to earning this prestigious award, BCBSKS received an award for significantly improving its rate of resolving customer issues on first contact.
"As the state’s largest, member-owned health insurer, our employees recognize that we work for our members and that providing them superior customer service is integral to our daily business operations," said Andrew C. Corbin, BCBSKS president/CEO. “It is an honor to have our achievements in customer service recognized as the highest in the health care industry.
"Our 1,450 employees are proud to continue our long tradition of providing Kansans with the quality service they have come to expect from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas,” Corbin said.
SQM is an independent third-party company which benchmarks more than 400 call centers in nine countries each year to determine its awards. The awards are determined on the basis of a statistically valid sampling of customers who called the call center and were surveyed within one to three days of that call. The 2009 awards were presented in November in Toronto, Canada.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. BCBSKS is the state's largest health insurer, serving all Kansas counties except Johnson and Wyandotte.
