Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Earns Two Customer Satisfaction Awards
For the fourth consecutive year, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas has been awarded the Highest Customer Satisfaction Award in the health care industry by Service Quality Measurement Group (SQM). In addition to earning this prestigious award, BCBSKS is the first company within the entire Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association to be designated a "World Class Certified Call Center."
"At Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas – which is the state's largest health insurer – our employees recognize that we work for our members, the people who are the owners of our company. Providing our members superior customer service is integral to our daily business operations," said Andrew C. Corbin, president/CEO. “It is an honor to receive these awards in particular because they reflect our members' perception of our service to them.
"Providing quality service is a company-wide commitment and each of our 1,450 employees strives daily to fulfill this commitment,” Corbin said.
SQM is an independent third-party company that benchmarks more than 400 call centers in nine countries each year to determine its awards. The awards are determined on the basis of a statistically valid sampling of customers who called the call center and were surveyed within one to three days of that call. To achieve the World Class Certified Call Center designation a call center must have performed at or maintained SQM's world class achievement level for six or more months. The 2010 awards were presented in November in Toronto, Canada.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. BCBSKS is the state's largest health insurer, serving all Kansas counties except Johnson and Wyandotte.
