Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Earns Brand Excellence Awards for Provider Satisfaction and Member Retention
For the fourth consecutive year, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas has received a prestigious Brand Excellence Award for provider satisfaction from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), according to leaders from the two organizations. In addition, the company received a second award, Brand Excellence for member retention. The annual awards honor Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies that excel in developing and enhancing the overall Blue Cross and Blue Shield brand image.
“The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Brands are the most recognized brands in the health insurance industry and BCBSA congratulates the winning Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies for their leadership in providing premier service, and meeting and exceeding customer and provider expectations,” said Scott P. Serota, BCBSA president and CEO.
BCBSKS earned a Brand Excellence Award in the Provider Satisfaction category for receiving the highest rating from its provider network among all Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. The second award, Brand Excellence in the Member Retention category, was presented to the company for having a high member retention rate over the past year. This is the first year BCBSKS has received this award.
“Receiving an award recognizing us for our member retention in 2010 is a notable achievement for our company,” said Andrew C. Corbin, BCBSKS president/CEO. “This award is a testament to our solid brand, strong partnerships and dedicated employees.”

The Brand Excellence Awards honor Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies nationwide in categories that represent Brand Excellence including, attraction of new customers, fostering loyalty to existing customers, expanding the brands into additional lines of products or services, and provider satisfaction.
This marks the ninth and 10th overall Brand Excellence Award for BCBSKS, which previously earned awards in 1995-1998, and in 2001, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
