Sloan Elected Chairman, Four Kansans Elected to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors
Steve W. Sloan, Pittsburg, was elected to a one-year term as chairman of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors at its annual meeting May 9 in Topeka. Diane L. Lee, CPA, CSEP, Hutchinson, was elected to a one-year term as vice chairman.
Sloan, president and CEO of Midwest Minerals, Inc. since 1995, has served on the board since 2008. Lee, who also joined the board in 2008, is a certified public account with Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk and Loyd, LLC.
Directors elected to four-year terms at the meeting were Leon J. Boor, retired administrator of Memorial Hospital, Abilene; Andrew C. Corbin, president/CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, Topeka; Gary D. Shorman, president/CEO of Eagle Communications, Inc., Hays; and Susan M. Smith, senior vice president and chief human relations officer, GLMV Architecture, Inc., Wichita.
Other members of the board are James M. Alley, III, D.D.S., Wichita; Leonard R. Hernandez, Wellington; Robin R. LacKamp, Rose Hill; Steven D. Marsh, Wichita; Edward J. Miller, Iola; Louis E. (Gene) Mosiman, Topeka; Robert L. Mullen, Manhattan; Thomas C. Simpson, M.D., Sterling; Cathy Mih Taylor, M.D., Chanute; and, Kenneth W. Winter, Dodge City.
