National Walk @ Lunch Day®

Make your lunch a walking lunch along with tens of thousands of walkers from across the country at National Walk @ Lunch Day! The event is typically the last Wednesday in April.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas hosts rallies and walks in various locations throughout the company's service area. For the 2018 event, structured walks took place in 11 Kansas cities. In its 12th year, there were nearly 3,000 walkers who made their lunch a walking lunch.

For more than 75 years, BCBSKS has played an active role in helping Kansans lead healthier lives. Those efforts continue today through National Walk @ Lunch Day®. The day is designed to encourage busy people like you to take a walk during your lunch break and start a healthy routine. A regular walking routine can reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and be a positive influence on heart disease, diabetes and osteoporosis.

National Walk @ Lunch Day is designed to complement, not compete with your busy lifestyle. You can make a commitment to incorporating a daily walk into your routine, helping you improve your health. It is easy to do - just bring a comfortable pair of shoes to work and take a walk at lunch.

The next National Walk @ Lunch Day is set for April 24, 2019.
