Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation Distributes $149,757 in Healthy Habits for Life Grants to School Personnel in 62 Counties
December 20, 2018 - For a 13th year, school personnel will use Healthy Habits for Life grant dollars to fund at-school programs aimed at helping thousands of children reduce their cardiovascular risk, increase their physical activity or learn healthy eating habits. The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation recently distributed a total of $149,757.30 through 155 grants to school personnel spread across 62 Kansas counties.


Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Employees, Foundation Give $303,282 to United Way Campaigns Across the State
November 26, 2018 - Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas employees, retirees and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation donated a total of $303,282.18 to United Way campaigns in Hutchinson, Salina, Topeka and Wichita this fall.


Value-Based Programs Showing Positive Results at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas
August 14, 2018 - The actual cost of providing health care to commercially-insured Blue Cross and Blue Shield members attributed to a value-based program was $17.35 per member, per month below the network average during 2017, according to Michael D. Atwood, M.D., CHIE, vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.


Applications now Available for Healthy Habits for Life School Grants from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation
July 17, 2018 - Applications are now available at bcbsks.com/hhfl so school nurses, teachers and administrators may apply for a Healthy Habits for Life grant to help their students reduce their cardiovascular risk, increase their physical activity or learn healthy eating habits. The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation is making up to $150,000 in Healthy Habits for Life grants available for school-based programs delivered during 2019. The deadline to submit an application is Oct. 5.


256 Community Non-Profits Funding Health Programs with $764,000 from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation
June 18, 2018 - The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation donated $764,378.65 to 256 health-related, non-profit organizations during 2017, according to Marlou Wegener, chief operating officer of the BCBSKS Foundation. The dollars provided funding for a variety of programs focused on improving the health and wellness of Kansans, which is the overarching goal of the BCBSKS Foundation.


Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, Walgreens Partner to Expand Number of Safe Medication Disposal Kiosks Available to Kansans

Kansans from Lawrence, Plainville and Wichita Elected to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors
May 15, 2018 - Jennifer L. Brull, M.D., Plainville, Jeff D. Mullen, Wichita, and Angela N. Wilson, D.D.S., Lawrence, were elected to new four-year terms on the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Board of Directors at its annual meeting May 10 in Topeka. Matthew D. All, Lawrence, was elected to complete three years of an unexpired term.


Eighteen Kay Clubs Sharing $100,000 in Be the Spark Grants to Encourage Peers to Live More Active Lives
