BlueAccess Login and Registration FAQs

If you're having trouble accessing your member BlueAccess account online, these Frequently Asked Questions may help you troubleshoot.

Signing in

How do I know if I should use my email address or user ID to sign in?

All users can sign in with their verified email address. If you created your account before December 2024, you may also have a user ID that you can use to sign in.

When I try to sign in, I receive a message that says “Invalid User ID or Password,” but when I try to create an account, it says an account already exists.

If you receive a message that an account already exists while registering, you can find the email address associated with your account.

What should I do if I get a login error that says “Invalid User ID or Password”?

If you're not sure which email address is associated with your account, you can recover it. If you're using the correct email address but still can't sign in, you can reset your password.

Verification Codes and Account Security

Why am I being asked to enter a verification code?

To help protect your personal, health, and financial information, we may ask you to verify your identity with a one-time code. Once you enter the code, you can choose to trust that device for 30 days to reduce how often you're asked to complete this step.

Why am I not receiving the code to reset my password via email or text message?

  • Make sure you're using the email address associated with your account. If you're unsure which email address is linked to your account, you can recover your email. If you're expecting the code by email, check your spam or junk folder.
  • If you're receiving the code by text message or phone call, make sure the phone number on your account is current. If you've recently changed your phone number, it may not have been updated in your account.
  • Occasionally, email providers and phone carriers may block these messages. If you believe that's happening, contact your provider or carrier for assistance.
  • If you've tried all of the above, contact us.

I no longer have access to the email address I used to create my account.

Accounts require both a verified email address and phone number. If you know your password, you can sign in and choose to receive your verification code by text message or phone call. Once you're signed in, you can update your email address in the Account section.

What should I do if the code I receive does not work?

  • Make sure you're entering the correct code. During account registration, you'll first verify your phone number and then your email address. Be sure you're entering the code for the correct step.
  • If you've requested multiple codes, wait for the most recent code to arrive and use that one.
  • Make sure your device's date and time are set correctly and update automatically.
  • If the issue continues, close your browser completely and start a new session.

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Make sure you're using the latest version of the mobile app.
  • Review the supported browsers and operating systems listed on our technical support page.
  • Confirm you're signing in to the correct website for your plan:
    • Medicare Advantage (MA): Member Portal
    • Part D (Blue MedicareRx):
      • If Part D is your only BCBSKS coverage, sign in to the Prime Member Portal.
      • If you have Part D plus other BCBSKS coverage, sign in to BlueAccess and select the link to your Part D information on Prime.
    • Federal Employee Program (FEP): Member Portal
  • If you're covered by a different Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan, visit that plan's website directly.

All users can sign in with their verified email address.

If you created your account before December 2024, you might also have a user ID that you can use.

Make sure you're entering both the email address or user ID and password associated with your account correctly. If you still receive an error, you can reset your password.

You might be using a different email address than the one you used when setting up your account. If you're expecting the code via email, be sure to check your spam or junk folder.

If you still don’t receive the code, it's possible that the email address or mobile number associated with your account wasn’t entered correctly during sign-up. Additionally, if you've recently changed your mobile number, it may not have been updated in your account.

For help verifying the email address and mobile number associated with your account, you can fill out our BlueAccess or website help form. Alternatively, you can call the customer service number listed on your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas ID card.

Occasionally, your email provider or phone carrier may block these messages. If this is the case, please contact them to ensure the messages are delivered successfully.

Your account contains sensitive health and financial information, and we are committed to keeping it secure. This one-time code serves as an important security measure to protect against unauthorized access. While we understand this may be an inconvenience, it is in place to safeguard our members. Once you enter the one-time code, you can select an option to bypass this step on that device for the next 30 days, making future logins more convenient.

Sometimes, the simplest solution is to close your browser completely and start a new session.

When registering your account, you’ll first be asked to verify your mobile number, followed by your email address. Make sure you are entering the correct code at each step. Please allow enough time for the code to arrive before requesting additional ones.

Ensure that the time on your device is set to update automatically. If you have it set manually, double-check that the date and time are accurate.

If you no longer have access to the email address or mobile number used to create your account, please fill out BlueAccess or website help form to reach our Web Support team.
