Questions Regarding People Enrolled with Blue Cross and Blue Shield from Another State

Can someone switch from BCBS of another state to BCBSKS? 
Yes, if you apply for BCBSKS coverage within 63 days of losing your coverage, you do not have to complete a health statement. If you are not losing your current coverage, you will need to complete a health statement. Your application will be forwarded to our underwriting department. They will determine your eligibility. You will receive a letter stating whether you were accepted and what your effective date is. If you are denied, you will be given the reason(s) why. Yes, you can enroll in any plan available within your service area. Do I have to medically qualify? 
If you are within six months of your Medicare Part B effective date or your 65th birthday, or if you apply within 63 days from losing your coverage, you would be considered Guarantee Issue. Therefore you would not have to complete a health statement. You will receive a letter stating whether you were accepted and what your effective date is. If you are denied, you will be given the reason(s) why.
