What if I'm with a Medicare Advantage policy that doesn't participate in this area? 
As long as you apply within 63 days from losing your coverage, you would be considered Guarantee Issue. If you are over 65 or past six months from your Medicare Part B effective date, you will need to complete a health statement. Your application will be forwarded to our underwriting department. They will determine your eligibility. You will receive a letter stating whether you were accepted and what your effective date is. What if the policy will still cover me, but I want to switch to BCBSKS anyway? 
If you are past your 65th birthday or more than six months from your Medicare Part B effective date, you will need to complete a health statement. If you are just turning 65 or are within six months of your Medicare Part B effective date, you can enroll in a policy of your choice.

Can I have information sent to me if I still live in another state? 
No, you must reside in our service area to explore options with BCBSKS. Our service area includes all counties in Kansas except Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
