Quality Care Opportunities: Preventive Screenings, Medication Management and Behavioral Health Follow-up

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) appreciates your commitment to delivering high-quality care to our members. Preventive services, medication adherence and timely behavioral health follow-ups are essential to improving patient outcomes and advancing quality performance measures.

Federal Employees Program (FEP) – HEDIS Measures

Providers caring for FEP members are encouraged to review patient records and address gaps in care related to:

  • Preventive Screenings
    • Breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings for eligible patients
  • Medication Management
    • Appropriate statin therapy for members with cardiovascular disease or diabetes
    • Medication adherence and medication safety
  • Behavioral Health Follow-Up
    • Timely follow-up after hospitalization or emergency department visits for mental health conditions
    • Care coordination for members receiving behavioral health services

Consistent follow-up, complete documentation, accurate coding and patient engagement help close care gaps, improve quality outcomes and support the overall health and well-being of FEP members. We appreciate your partnership in providing comprehensive, high-quality care.
