Subject: Important Notice: Duplicate Checks Issued – Dec. 8

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) is notifying you of a payment issue that may affect a limited number of providers who receive paper check payments. Providers paid via EFT were not impacted. We apologize for any inconvenience.

What happened
On Dec. 8, a check printing error caused some duplicate checks to be issued.

What you need to do

  • If you did not receive a duplicate check:
    No action is needed.
  • If you received a duplicate check and have not deposited it:
    Please do not cash it or send it back to BCBSKS. Void and/or shred the duplicate check.
  • If you received and already deposited a duplicate check:
    No immediate action is required from you. Our team will identify the duplicate payment and coordinate recovery or apply an offset through future remittance activity, as appropriate.
