System update impacts claims; resolution date updated, now March 1, 2026

Claims affected by an earlier modernization effort are now expected to be resolved by March 1, 2026, instead of Jan. 1.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) encountered an issue with processing BlueCard Host claims after a system update in August. This update was part of a modernization effort aimed at improving the BlueCard experience. BCBSKS anticipates that remaining claims will be fully resolved by March 1, 2026. The process is taking longer than anticipated due to additional details and manual information needed across all plans in the BlueCard system.

Providers with questions should reach out to their provider relations representative. No action is required from providers, and they should not resubmit claims. BCBSKS apologizes for the delay and remains committed to resolving the issue and processing provider claims.
