Update: Credentialing Requirement Implementation Timeline Adjustment

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) is committed to keeping providers informed as we update our credentialing processes.

Previously, we announced a requirement that all providers will need to be credentialed to initiate and maintain participation in the BCBSKS network. This requirement was originally scheduled to take effect July 1, 2026; however, implementation has been delayed. A revised effective date will be shared in future communication.

At this time, no action is required, and there is no impact to current network participation status related to this requirement. Providers should continue following current credentialing standards until further notice.

When implementation is rescheduled, providers will receive formal notice with a structured schedule showing provider cohorts by type and the timeline for completing updated credentialing requirements. This phased approach is intended to provide clarity and minimize disruption.

BCBSKS remains committed to standardizing credentialing practices across our network to support high-quality, consistent provider participation. Additional details will be shared before implementation begins.
