Reminder: Cost Relief
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas appreciates everything you have done to ensure our members receive quality, safe healthcare during these unprecedented times throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Many industries have struggled with staffing shortages and supply chain issues, and we know yours is no different. In August 2022 we reached out to let you know that BCBSKS will be providing a 1% cost relief adjustment in reimbursement (MAPs) that was made effective Sept. 1, 2022. The adjustment will remain in place for a 12-month period for contracting providers. It applies to all professional services except clinical lab, ambulance, pharmacies, and pharmaceuticals. The 1% cost relief will be in addition to any specific reimbursement changes planned for 2023. This relief is meant to help ease a portion of the effects you have been feeling from the recent pricing hikes across our country.
