2024 Federal Employee Program (FEP) Changes

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) will continue to administer the FEP group health plan in Kansas for 2024.

The Service Benefit Plan continues to offer three plans:

Changes to only FEP BlueFocus Benefit Plan:

  • Removed day limitation for residential treatment centers.

Changes to only Standard Benefit Plan:

  • Added coverage for assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures and services.

Changes to Standard and Basic Benefit Plans:

  • Added coverage for breast augmentation for male to female gender affirming care.
  • Lowered the age for mastectomy coverage for female to male gender affirming care.
  • Lowered the required months of continuous hormone therapy in relation to gender identity.
  • Added coverage for certain facial surgeries for gender affirming care.
  • Increase in member cost share.

Changes to all Service Benefit Plans (Standard, Basic and FEP BlueFocus):

  • Added coverage for artificial insemination.
  • Removed prior approval requirements for multiple benefits.
