Temporary Suspension of Sequestration
Effective May 1, 2020, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) will temporarily suspend sequestration for Medicare Advantage providers. The suspension is due to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. This act temporarily suspends the -2% sequestration payment adjustment on Medicare fee-for-service reimbursement. Sequestration will resume pursuant to CMS guidelines.
